Dubai Mall is one of the world’s largest malls with over 13,000 car park lots and 57 entry/exit points across 5 parking zones. The car parks are managed by Salik Company PJSC (Salik), Dubai’s toll gate operator with a base of 4 million registered vehicles.

With an increasing visitor footprint to the mall and its parking facilities, it is essential to improve parking availability and streamline operations to deliver a convenient and efficient experience for all guests.
A Seamless Tolling to Hassle-Free, Cashless Parking Experience for Motorists
To ensure visitors enjoy a seamless parking experience at the mall, there is a need for a smart car park system that enables guests to find parking lots quickly and easily.
Addressing the mall’s requirement, ST Engineering integrated its GoParkin™ Barrier-free Smart Car Park System with Dubai’s Salik traffic toll system developed by its tolling business TransCore. The system manages 3 zones – Grand Parking, Cinema Parking and Fashion Parking, delivering smoother and more convenient parking for visitors.
Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, motorists who park at the mall will have their vehicle licence plate number automatically captured and identified for parking fee processing.
As most motorists in Dubai already have a Salik account, parking fees are automatically deducted from their prepaid accounts, enabling ticketless and cashless parking at the mall. The barrier-free system also provides smooth entry and exit, minimising traffic congestion.
Reduces Operational and Maintenance Costs for Car Park Operations
The cloud-based GoParkin system provides centralised management and control of car park operations while integrating with Salik’s profiled accounts for swift transaction processing.
In addition to consolidating revenue and generating reports for Salik, the GoParkin system provides an asset management module that offers an overview of system status with automatic alerts to on-site staff to promptly address issues, preventing costly downtime.
To better manage parking demand, the GoParkin system provides tier-based tariff management. Parking tariffs can be set based on factors, such as time, location, duration and special events. The platform also controls access for various user profiles, including VIPs and blacklisted / whitelisted vehicles, as well as exempted vehicles for visitors with limited mobility.
