Integrating an Anchor Transit Line

Demand for a robust turnkey partner and move through complexity towards seamless delivery.

In Bangkok, Thailand, the Purple Line is a 23km long mass rapid heavy rail system that connects Tao Bang Yai in the Nonthaburi province of Bangkok, through the downtown district to Bang Sue. Our suite of mobility solutions provide seamless commute along the north-western suburbs and the southern area of the city.

With the plan to include over 16 elevated stations, a depot with 4 “Park and Ride” facilities and 21 trains for the Purple Line, there was much emphasis to ensure a robust and resilient project partner to see through the completion and operation of this anchor public transit line, within a tight timeline.

Through timely and thorough management, working through the complexity and scale of this turnkey project, it was successfully delivered within 31 months. It was completed a month ahead of the schedule. The solutions implemented include the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) System, Platform Screen Door (PSD) System, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System, Passenger Information Display System (PIDS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) System, and a full suite of communications and control systems. A milestone project that is of no mean feats.
